SOMETIMES 24/7 AUTOMATIC PROTECTION IS NOT ENOUGH
Each website is composed of more or less complex code which, if not updated, can become a "flaw" in the system, that is, if analyzed and understood by a hacker, it can show "back doors", real openings that hackers can use it to bypass defenses and modify the sites they have entered at will.
It's as if we owned a villa complete with armed guards and an alarm system, but we left the map written on a wall to enter through hidden tunnels not protected by alarm systems.
BECAUSE THEY HACKED US
Most websites have no valuable data.
Even by gaining access to an e-commerce site, for example, we would still not be able to obtain credit card numbers which are managed by secure payment systems such as Stripe or PayPal and even if we were able to get our hands on a list of email addresses , at most we could send spam emails or scam attempts, which in most cases would be intercepted and blocked.
But then why are so many sites hacked every day?
Hackers are "professionals" who scour the internet daily looking for holes to gain access to their victims.
Once the flaw has been found and access to a number of sites has been created (100 or 1000 for example) the hacker literally sells these accesses to potential buyers, who will use the sites to, for example, create content that increases the backlinks of own products.
For example, farmaggibalenghi.com could purchase 1000 sites from AnthonyHack to "inject" 1000 pages containing text and backlinks towards formaggibalenghi.com, thus obtaining immediate advertising and thus immediately improving its ranking on Google.
AntonyHack, which has an automatic hacking system, could thus earn, for example, €1000 in a matter of days.
IF THE SERVER IS PROTECTED, WHY ARE SITES HACKED?
As explained, Easy Green Hosting offers an automatic 24/7 protection service, however it very often happens that some sites use plugins that are not updated or even abandoned or removed from the WordPress repository precisely because they are insecure, or the themes or WordPress core are not updated.
There are plugins, for example, like WP Bakery or Slider Revolution that come with the theme, but for which the license is not provided. In those cases those plugins cannot be updated unless you have the license and it often happens that some versions are particularly vulnerable: by not updating the plugins the vulnerability remains so high.

WP Patrol is a service born from our experience with sites coming from insecure web hosting, in which customers found their site hacked and without the possibility of receiving assistance from their provider.
