Greetings. In this article we see how to manage the email address of your domain from gmail.com
We will use firstname.lastname@example.org: instead of that address you will need to use email@example.com
We will have to do 2 actions:
- set gmail so that send email from firstname.lastname@example.org
- set gmail so that downloads the inbox of email@example.com
1. How to set up gmail so that send email from your inbox
First I go into my gmail account and click on the little wheel at the top right and click on "View all settings"
Then I click on "Accounts and import" and then on "Add another email address" under "send message as"
Server SMTP: mail.(your domain name), for example mail.lamiaditta.com
Username: your email address linked to the domain
Password: the password of the same mailbox (in this case the password of firstname.lastname@example.org
And we leave the TLS connection and port 587
If everything has been written correctly, the result will be the following:
Simply confirm the action by clicking on the link received in your inbox.
2. How to set up gmail so that downloads emails from your inbox
At this point we want to ensure that gmail downloads the messages sent to our external email account and therefore click on "Add a gmail account" next to "check mail from other accounts"
we click Next
Username: the email we are interested in
Password: the password for that email
Server POP: the same as before, i.e. mail.(your domain name), for example mail.lamiaditta.com
It is necessary to leave the check on “Always use a secure connection (SSL)
The rest of the options are at your discretion.
As a last step, it may be advisable to select "Reply from the same address to which the message was sent", so as not to have to select the correct address for each reply.
Google will check the external mailbox every 30-45 minutes, then Don't expect to be able to instantly read messages sent to the @yourdomain inbox on gmail.
However, you can always log in to the webmail to be able to read newly received messages.
